Melvin Sia won't be home for CNY

13 Jan – Melvin Sia recently admitted that he has yet to return to Malaysia since the pandemic started.

As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who spoke to the media at a brand event recently, shared that he won't be coming home for the Lunar New Year - as Malaysia is currently on lockdown - but that he would be celebrating it with friends in the circle including Ruby Lin and Cheryl Yang.

"I hope that the pandemic will subside soon so that everybody's life will be back on track," he said.

Melvin, who has been living in Taiwan for seven years and obtained permanent residency at the end of last year, admitted that he likes the environment in Taiwan and looks forward to having his own home.

"I am not a fan of luxury houses like the ones in The Palace or Tao Zhu Yin Yuan. I prefer the ones like in Xinyi District. The designer of the house is an architect I liked very much when I was studying," he said.

Melvin currently has three houses in Malaysia, but joked that the property price in Taiwan is so expensive that he would not be able to afford his favourite place even if he sold all the three houses.

Aside from having his own house in Taiwan, Melvin added that he also plans to buy land in Taoyuan in the future.
