Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a splash during their recent three-day stay in Nigeria, but unbeknownst to the public, Harry was privately dealing with some nerves due to their sheer amount of public engagements during the trip.

“Harry has a bit of a problem hiding some of his anxiety sometimes,” royal expert Kinsey Schofield told GB News via OK. “Meghan being by his side certainly calms him down and helps him out throughout that process.”

The trip, ultimately, was a success for the couple, with Schofield believing the trip served a dual purpose for Harry's Invictus Games. “I understand that their objective is to court Nigeria for a future Invictus Games,” Schofield explained. “I think that they probably did a great job doing that.”

In light of Harry and Markle's endeavors in Nigeria, the press coverage has been overwhelmingly positive for the pair and turned public opinion in their favor. Schofield added that the visit “was great PR for them, because if you just Google Meghan Markle today, 90 percent of the headlines are about how glamorous her wardrobe was, how beautiful she was ... I lost count of how many times I saw the word ‘glam,’ and obviously, they wanted positive press out of this, and they wanted people to start saying some nicer things about them.”

Though Harry may have dealt with a few nerves during his and Markle's Nigeria visit, he had nothing but positive things to say about the trip and told People, "These trips are about us being able to go out and go and focus on the things that mean so much to us and support the causes that are close to our heart, and being able to be on the ground that, to us, is what it’s all about."

Compared to their last visit to Africa in 2019, Markle told the outlet, “We’re just doing great. And happy to be watching our family grow up and evolve,” talking about her and Harry's two children, Archie and Lilibet. “Of course I’m happy. We’re really happy.”
