Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan hosted a casual, at-home affair for their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor's first birthday last week.
"Meghan made the cake — strawberries and cream. And Harry helped with decorations and blew up balloons," a source told the outlet. "They Zoomed with godparents, friends and family and had a really simple but incredibly joyous day."
Harry and Meghan weren't the only guests for Archie's at-home birthday bash, however. The family's two beloved dogs—Guy, the beagle, and the black lab the pair adopted in 2018—were reportedly the one-year-old's joint guests of honor.
The little one "is best friends with his dogs," continued the source. "They make him laugh and are gentle with him."
Also to mark their son's first birthday, the Sussexes shared a video of Meghan reading to Archie as a part of the #SaveWithStories social media campaign. The digital initiative showcases celebrities reading classic children's stories on Instagram to raise funds for children impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
In the clip, Archie is seen giggling along as Meghan reads him Duck! Rabbit!, an adorable book gifted to the young royal from family friend Oprah Winfrey.
