Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Switch into Glam Formal Wear for Reception in Morocco

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to bring their royal glam to Morocco!

The couple stepped out on Sunday for a reception hosted by the British Ambassador to Morocco, Thomas Reilly, and his wife at the British Residence in Rabat.

The royal mom-to-be looked regal in a bespoke dress by Dior featuring draped sleeves. After wearing her hair loose earlier in the day, Meghan pulled back her locks into a low bun, showing off her Birks Snowflake Snowstorm diamond earrings – a favorite pair that she has worn on a number of occasions, including the couple’s July visit to Ireland and their royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand in October.

Meghan also carried a tan clutch, perfectly matching her gown.

Meanwhile, Harry kept things classic with a suit and tie.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were greeted upon their arrival by the daughters of the ambassador — Orla, 12, and Elsa, 8 – and the couple was given a traditional rose water greeting.

During the reception, the parents-to-be met a number of guests, including influential Moroccan women, young entrepreneurs and disabled athletes – all of whom the royal parents-to-be work to champion with their charitable work.

Meghan has long been a vocal feminist and shared last year how she was excited to “hit the ground running” in support of women’s rights in her royal duties. Meanwhile, Harry took over the role of Commonwealth Youth Ambassador from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, last year and dedicates much of his work to the Invictus Games, which see injured, sick or wounded veterans compete in a variety of sports.

As the tour started, Reilly highlighted some of the themes of the visit, which were reflected at the party.

“Women have traditionally played a vital role in Moroccan society. A focus on improving access to secondary education for girls, especially in rural areas, and better vocational training for women is recognition that improved education, releasing a woman’s human growth and developmental potential, is essential for sustainable economic growth,” he said.

The reception follows a busy day for the couple, which included a visit a boarding house for young girls, where Meghan participated in a henna ceremony.

“It’s for when we have a big party,” Khadeja Oukattou, a housemother at the boarding house, says. “Now she is pregnant we do the henna to keep her happy with with the baby. For good luck.”

They also stopped by a school and watched the students play soccer.

Meghan sported a casual look for the day out, wearing a collarless navy blazer from Alice + Olivia over a fitted black top, black pants and her go-to black velvet Birdies flats.
