Make-up mogul Bobbi Brown has shared a fun new story about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's early days of dating, saying that the Duchess of Sussex dropped a hint she was getting to know the royal – but that she didn't pick up on it. D'oh!

In honour of Meghan's 39th birthday earlier this week (which saw her receive a sweet shout out from Prince William and Kate Middleton), Bobbi posted an Instagram throwback picture of her with the actress, captioning it with an anecdote about a time she and Meghan had worked together – when she'd casually mentioned she was dating a British man.

"Happy Birthday to Meghan Markle who was such a joy to work with. Sweet, cool and so funny. At the time of the shoot, she was telling me about a fellow she had just started to date from the UK. I didn’t ask who." We bet Bobbi is kicking herself now, for not asking any more at the time! Although fair play to her for respecting Meghan's privacy.

She also added to her post that she later saw Meghan again, this time with Harry in tow, at a super fancy Soho House Amsterdam party. "Saw them again at a very special @sohohouseamsterdam birthday day. Sweet as always."

Is it just us or is it always so fascinating hearing about the early days of an extremely famous couple's relationship?

Bobbi and Meghan worked together on a make-up tutorial video back in 2016, as part of a campaign with Uber that offered customers in New York and LA free beauty touch-ups during their ride.

Over in other Meghan and Harry news, as the release of a biography all about them breaking away from the royal family, Finding Freedom, edges closer to its publication date, more and more extracts are beginning to be shared. One of which (that we love) is all about the special meaning behind the Sussex's dog's name, which has a lovely tie to a place that the couple both see as significant to their relationship.

Further details about their first date have also been included in the book, which says that the pair initially met for drinks in London's Soho, before quickly pencilling another date at the same venue days later, only this time for dinner. It sounds like the sparks were flying pretty early on then!
