Meg Ryan in "You've Got Mail"Meg Ryan has seen those TikTok videos about her fall style and she finds them endearing.
“It is the cutest thing ever. I saw pictures of girls trying on hats. I don't know why it has anything remotely to do with me, but it is so sweet. It kills me,” the actress, 61, tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week’s issue.
The star is referring to something her fashion-loving fans have dubbed "Meg Ryan Fall," an autumnal TikTok aesthetic inspired by Ryan's famous rom-com wardrobes in films like When Harry Met Sally, You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle.
If you search the phrase on TikTok, millions of videos pop up of fashion-obsessed users recreating some of '80s and ‘90s outfits that channel looks Ryan famously wore in her films.
That includes a variety of chunky knit sweaters, oversize wool blazers, baggy trousers, dad jeans, loafers and bowler hats that have come back into fashion thanks in part to the classic nature of the feel-good films and Ryan's iconic style.

Many of the clothes Ryan wore on-screen then mirror what she still reaches for in her closet now.
“There are certain types of blazers that I like. There's certain flat shoes, basically orthopedic-looking shoes, and baggy pants,” she tells PEOPLE of the essentials she usually gravitates towards when she's piecing together a going-out look.

When it comes to her beauty philosophy, Ryan's outlook is also timeless. She tells PEOPLE she seeks inspiration from her daily surroundings.
“There's so many forms [of beauty]," she shares. "There's beauty in nature, which just takes your breath away and then there's a beautiful gesture somebody does or [when a person is] beautifully generous towards you, or you see somebody go out of their way to do something kind."
She adds: "Kindness is so beautiful. If you just pay attention, it's everywhere.”
