Meet the performer singing for Ohio’s voters

The performer serenading queueing voters

STREET PERFORMER AND SINGER, KATANYA INGRAM:

"Well my name is KaTanya Ingram. I'm a local street performer in Columbus, Ohio, and I decided to come out and sing for the voters that are committed to coming and standing in line for an hour or more every day, before Tuesday, I believe. I'm getting lost in the days because I've been out here so much. So my goal is to entertain and encourage people so they don't give up, so they don't say, 'you know what, this is too cold out here, I just want to leave."

Ohio has seen long queues around voting centres

since there is only one voting centre per county

STREET PERFORMER AND SINGER, KATANYA INGRAM:

"Some people have come by and said, 'Oh my gosh, I absolutely love that song, or let me tell you, that's the song my husband and I danced to at our wedding reception.'"

LOCAL RESIDENT AND VOTER, SHA'RI BIRCHFIELD:

"Yeah, I like it, yeah, I didn't hear it until I got around the corner, but now that I hear it, I think it's really well, it's good, I think she has a very good voice."
