Meet Kenya's weightlifting Olympian granny

Mercy Obiero was only the second African woman

to compete in weightlifting at the Olympics in 2012

Now retired from competing professionally

the 42-year-old works as a coach

Her daughter Chanel Okoth

and granddaughter Keysha Atiky

are hoping to follow in her footsteps

"When she went for the Olympics, I was very happy. I saw her at the TV and I was very happy and I said one day even me I will go to the Olympics."

Mercy has been weightlifting for 20 years

and she's overcome skepticism

about women in sport
