Eurovision superfans shared their excitement ahead of the music contest, which draws a television audience of about 200 million.
Lovers of the contest from around the world reached out to friends and online communities to celebrate the event, known for its kitsch pop songs and flamboyant costumes.
"I think that the Eurovision audience is the best audience in the world," said Swedish fan Helena Jonsson.
The 2021 edition will be held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands this weekend after Dutch singer-songwriter Duncan Laurence won the 2019 contest with the song "Arcade."
The city itself has tried to reach out to remote fans by launching the #SWINGALONG dance challenge, with selected participants getting their social media videos projected onto a Rotterdam skyscraper.
