During The Bachelor season 28 finale in March, former Bachelorette star Charity Lawson broke the news that Tran would star when the series returns in late 2024. She described her as "someone who is intelligent... witty, she's fun and she's super kind."
Tran expressed her excitement about the opportunity and shared her hopes for the season ahead, quipping that she wanted to wrap her run with a "ring on my finger."

She's the first Asian-American lead of The Bachelor franchise
Tran makes Bachelor Nation history as the first Asian-American to star on The Bachelorette.
"I feel so so grateful and so honored to be the first Asian bachelorette in this franchise," Tran said with a smile on the March 25 season finale of The Bachelor, noting how she failed to see proper Asian representation growing up and felt "boxed in" because she never imagined she could be a leading lady.
She continued, "And now to be here today saying in this position being like I am going to lead my own love story, I am going to be the main character in my story — like I just can't help but think of how many people I'm inspiring."
She's a physician assistant student
Tran works in health care as a physician assistant student. She shares day-in-the-life videos on her Instagram, giving her followers a glimpse at what her "general surgery rotation" looks like.
According to her social media, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin in May 2020. Ironically, she made a joke about The Bachelorette in an old Instagram caption, tied to her school mascot the Wisconsin Badgers.

She said she learned 'so much' from her time on The Bachelor
Bachelor Nation was first introduced to Tran during Joey Graziadei's season of The Bachelor, where she finished in sixth place.
"You know, it didn't end the way that I wanted to, but I grew and I learned so much from it," she recalled of her experience on the show during the season 28 finale on March 25.
She's looking for a guy with a 'big personality'
Tran learned a lot from her time on The Bachelor. Now, she knows exactly what she wants in her future partner as she heads into The Bachelorette.
When she was announced as the star, Tran shared what she's looking for in her forever partner. She revealed she's on the hunt for a guy with a "big personality" who's capable of "cheeky banter" and "take it as much as they can dish it."
To the men who will vie for her heart, she said: "This experience is absolutely crazy and all I can hope is for them to really open up their heart to this because that's what I did and I got so much out of it... I really hope that they ready to have some frickin fun."
