We are happy to bring you the adorable news that 2021's Gerber baby has officially been announced. The news comes a year after Magnolia Earl was named the first-ever adopted Gerber baby.
Four-month-old Zane Kahin was revealed as the brand's latest "Spokesbaby" during a June 28 segment of the Today Show. The Winter Park, Florida native's parents, Erin and Mike, were surprised with the news live on air. He'll receive $25,000, free Gerber products for a year, and a whole new set of clothes valued at $1,000.
But aside from celebrating his supreme cuteness, Zane's new title also recognizes the hope he brought his parents. As a 27-year-old single woman, Erin was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her chemotherapy treatments, radiation, and a double mastectomy put into question her ability to have children. Then, Zane arrived.
"After getting married to my husband over a year ago, we surprisingly conceived naturally and had a near perfect pregnancy," she said in a statement. "Our family continues to enjoy every moment and look at life with appreciation and a sense of humor."
The judges who selected Zane pointed out his smiling face, which carries the "ability to inspire hope and spread joy." The little one will also be named Gerber's official taste tester and was appointed as the first Chief Growing Officer (CGO). Zane is Gerber's eleventh Spoksebaby since they launched their competitive Photo Search contest in 2010.
“Zane is our little comedian," said Erin, "he loves to crack himself up and even wakes up laughing.”
