Meerqeen: No such thing as Amir Ahnaf stealing Anna Jobling from me
1 Dec - Meerqeen has dismissed the notion that actor Amir Ahnaf has "stolen" Anna Jobling from him, as the two have been acting quite chummy with each other in recent weeks.
The actor, who was asked about the two stars, stated that the idea of Amir "stealing" Anna from him is absurd seeing that he himself and Anna have always just been friends and nothing more.
"To me, that's just a perception from the outside world because the fact is, the three of us have no issues whatsoever. I don't want our friendship in the industry marred by other people trying to stir the pot," he said.
Asked if he has any qualms working with Anna again, who was romantically linked to him in the past following their collaboration on the hit drama, "Melur Untuk Firdaus", Meerqeen stated that he has no problem doing so.
"I leave it all to the fans because I am only doing my duty as an actor. Maybe fans have yet to move on from our chemistry in 'Melur Untuk Firdaus', but we have to try and play other characters as well," he said.
It is noted that rumours of romance between Amir and Anna sparked after the two of them were united in the upcoming Astro drama, "Syurga Itu Bukan Mudah", to premiere on 4 December.
In it, Amir and Anna play married couple Farid and Aileen, who both have contrary definitions when it comes to "searching for paradise". The drama, directed by Eyra Rahman, is written by novelist Liza Nur of "Bukan Gadis Biasa" fame.
