"Mechamato" placed 4th in Best Anime list at Tokyo Anime Awards Festival

14 Nov – Malaysian animated series, "Mechamato" proves that it is a show to be reckoned with when it was revealed that it has made into the top ten list of Best Anime at the Tokyo Anime Awards Festival.

A prequel to hit series, "BoboiBoy", "Mechamato" takes place in a futuristic Malacca, where a young boy named Amato teams up with a sentient robot to take down other robots that have gone rogue.

The series, which made its debut in Japan via Cartoon Network Japan in March this year, bested other noteworthy anime series that include "Detective Conan" and "Attack on Titan" as it landed on the fourth spot below "Lycoris Recoil" and "Uta no Prince-Sama".

Meanwhile, the top spot is dominated by "Dropkick on My Devil".

Prior to its latest spot, the series' official Instagram account announced that it has made the sixth spot, but has since proceeded to surpass two other titles, "Spy X Family" and "The Vampire Dies in No Time".

On the other hand, the animated series, brought by Animonsta - the same company which made "Boboiboy", also made it to the Top 10 Kids Show list on Netflix Korea since it arrived on the streaming service last month.
