McDonald’s BTS meal in S'pore to be available via delivery only

Delayed due to Singapore’s Phase 2 (Heightened Alert), McDonald’s Singapore has announced that the BTS Meal will be exclusively available via delivery only from 21 June. In addition, the meal will not be available for purchase in-stores or drive-thru.

“To make this doubly safe and convenient for BTS fans, the BTS Meal will be available on delivery only. That means no need to rush to the restaurants, and no crowding in these pandemic times,” the fast-food chain wrote in their Facebook post.

The BTS Meal, which was initially scheduled to be sold in Singapore from 27 May, consists of 9-piece nuggets, cajun and sweet chilli sauces, along with fries and a drink. The meal is sold in specially designed BTS packaging, made especially for this BTS x McDonald’s collaboration.

ARMYs (name of BTS’s fans) will be able to get the BTS Meal from McDelivery, Grab, or Foodpanda.

McDonald’s had also “sweeten the experience” by offering the BTS Meal “at a special price of S$8.90”, which is said to be 10% off the usual delivery price.

To avoid crowding at physical stores, McDonald’s Singapore also added a note in their post to delivery riders that the fast-food chain will have safety measures in place to ensure orderly queues.

To “spread positivity” and “show appreciation & kindness to everyone who matters”, Singapore ARMYs have also launched the “We Purple You” project, donating meals to NUH staff and children under the Children's Wishing Well organisation. With a target of 270 donated meals, the project has gathered 199 meals and will continue until they reach the targeted number of meals or by 21 June, whichever earlier.

Creative ARMYs have also converted their BTS Meal packaging into art, ranging from tote bags to phone cases, while some other opportunistic people are selling sets of the well-preserved BTS Meal packaging at TW$499,999, which is approximately S$23,885.
