The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mayci Neeley is clearing up a few things when it comes to MomTok and the 2022 "soft-swinging" scandal that rocked the group.

During an appearance on Whine Down podcast with Jana Kramer on Sept. 29, she talked about the TikTok group, confirming that while she was in MomTok when the "soft swinging" took place, she "wasn't in the scandal."

"None of the swingers besides Taylor are in the show," Mayci clarified, referencing Taylor Frankie Paul who notoriously exposed the scandal back in 2022. She also confirmed that she and the rest of the MomTok group knew the moms involved in the scandal and that they "made videos together" at the time.

"I think people even now think, 'Oh, they're just trying to cover it up' and that 'They were swinging [too],' " Mayci said, adding, "You can think what you want, but we didn't know what was going on really behind the scenes."

Mayci noted that many of the moms who were a part of the scandal could have been in the show "if they wanted to be."

"I don't think they wanted to [be on the show] because of Taylor," Mayci explained. "One of the girls [I knew said], 'I don't wanna do it [because of] my mental health. So there's a few reasons."

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives followed MomTok members as they navigated the aftermath of the 2022 "soft-swinging" scandal that shook up the group and led to Taylor ending her first marriage to Tate Paul.

In the podcast, Mayci says that Taylor's reasoning for revealing the "soft-swinging" within the group was to clear up rumors that she "stepped out of the marriage and was unfaithful."

"There were a couple of girls in the MomTok group that liked someone's comment [that said] Taylor cheated. So then it was, like, 'Oh everything is true if someone from the group liked [the comment]," Mayci said. "I had an inkling of feeling that they were swingers. But, like, just from, like, things I was seeing. But no one truly knew until the scandal came out and was all over [the internet]."

Mayci further clarified that she wasn't involved in the soft-swinging, so the scandal "didn't affect [her] too much."
