Mawi doesn't plan to directly meet with Ina Naim to express his condolences
5 Dec - Singer-turned-radio personality Mawi says that there is no need for him to directly get in touch with former fiancee, Ina Naim, who recently lost her husband, the former Inteam member, Suhaimi Saad.
The "Akademi Fantasia" alumnus, who responded to questions from the media about Ina's loss at the Simfoni Kesyukuran concert held last weekend, said that expressing his condolences to Ina and her family on social media would suffice.
"The most important thing is to pray for them. A silent prayer is better and more sincere," he added.
When asked whether he knew about Suhaimi's illness prior to his passing, Mawi, real name Asmawi bin Ani, stated that he only knew about it on social media like everybody else.
Asked if he would help Ina and her children, the radio host said, "When it comes to prayers and assistance, let that be a private thing for me."
It is noted that Mawi was engaged to Ina in February 2004, but that it ended soon after he won the third season of "Akademi Fantasia".
Ina later tied the knot with Suhaimi with whom she has four children, while Mawi moved on by marrying singer, Nora' Asikin Rahmat or Ekin.
