It's an accepted fact that in the canon of celebrity relationships some are sharers and some are not. We either know everything about the inner workings of a celebrity couple or we're still speculating right up until their wedding day. So when someone as famous as Matthew McConaughey breaks from tradition to give an interview all about his wife Camila Alves and how he met her, we listen. Especially because these two have been together for a solid 14 years, and well, they're adorable.

Speaking to Oprah Winfrey on The Oprah Conversation, McConaughey spoke about the moment he and his wife Camila Alves met, saying that they instantly had a great connection.

McConaughey was there to promote his new memoir Greenlights, when Winfrey asked him about his relationship with his wife, whom he met in 2006.

"We had a great connection," he explained. "I spoke better Spanish and Portuguese that night than I have since, you know what I mean?"

"You pulled it out," Winfrey replied. To which McConaughey responded, "Well, it came from somewhere, thank you."

He explained that when he first saw her, he knew "immediately" that he wanted to get to know her. "I didn't say, 'Who is that.' I said, 'What is that'," he told the chat show host.

The couple, who met in 2006, got engaged in 2011 and tied the know a year later in 2012. They share three children, Levi, 12, Vida, 10, and eight-year-old Livingston.

In 2016 McConaughey let Esquire in on the proposal story, saying that his family believed Camila would say no.

"I remember hitting the knee, looking into her eyes. I remember her face. I remember this smile coming up from her feet.

"I remember her having to catch her breath," he continued. "And she didn't say yes right away. And then the whole family was going, 'Jeezus, she's gonna say no'."

Luckily, the dramatic pause was just that and the couple have happily been married for the last eight years.

Snaps to the Alves-McConaugheys for being consistently cute for 14 years.
