BENTONG, Oct 3 — Parti Amanah Negara president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu today said the so-called “green wave” of Malay-Muslim support for the Perikatan Nasional has been receding since the six state elections held in August.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) deputy chairman popularly known as Mat Sabu also urged Pelangai voters to reject any political fatwas issued by PN leaders, saying they have no authority to do so.

“PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said there will be a change of federal government after the state elections. Where is it? It didn’t change. The ‘green wave’ returned back to them, maybe,” he said in his speech at the Ceramah Mega Perpaduan Madani Pelangai here last night.

“When they do it, it’s fine. When they are against Howard Lee reading the Al Quran translation, maybe they forgot I was the PAS deputy president once, when we were friends with Pakatan, N Gopala Krishnan always recites a verse during ceramah. Everyone including Hadi Awang was in awe. They can’t be trusted.

“This is PAS’ behaviour,” he added.

The Pelangai state by-election is a three-way contest between Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Amizar Abu Adam, Perikatan Nasional’s candidate Kasim Samat, and Independent Haslihelmy DM Zulhasni.

The poll was called following the death of incumbent Datuk Seri Johari Harun in a plane crash in Shah Alam, Selangor on August 17.
