"Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan" goes to Netflix

7 Sep – After much speculations, it was revealed that "Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan" will be shown on Netflix soon.

In a statement to the media, it was revealed that the Syamsul Yusof film will be streaming on the platform on Malaysia Day globally on 16 September.

On the other hand, the movie, which is currently in theatres in Indonesia, will only be streaming in Indonesia beginning 14 October.

"Mat Kilau will also join 150 films, drama series and other local animation works in the Rekaan Rakyat collection, which celebrates the best works from Malaysia," according to the statement.

Among the works listed in the Rekaan Rakyat collection are "BoBoiBoy: The Movie", "Fly by Night", "Maria Mariana II", "Jimi Asmara" and many more.

The film, starring Adi Putra as the Malay warrior Mat Kilau, made RM96 million at the local box office with a budget of RM8 million.

The movie has been released in Indonesia on 31 August
