KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 6 — Actor Chris Rock definitely did not keep Will Smith’s wife’s name out of his mouth this time.

In a recently streamed Netflix special, Selective Outrage, days before the 2023 Oscars, he slapped back at actor Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett.

And did he slap hard.

It was the first time that actor Chris Rock publicly talked about the Slapgate controversy.

Viewers quickly took to social media to share their reactions, most of which echoed the same sentiment.

“Awesome new material and absolutely buried Will and Jada Smith towards the end,” said one Twitter user.

“Why not?” said another. “Smith assaulted him. He can say whatever he wants.”

“Will Smith may have started the fight but Chris Rock sure as hell finished it,” said a third.

There were a few however who found it uncool.

Another Twitter user said, “I’m over Chris Rock. I would have had more respect for him if he had either slapped Will Smith right back in the moment or fully forgiven him.

“Instead, he saved up his victimhood for a whole year just so he could let loose during a Netflix special. What a little you-know-what.”

On the Netflix special, Rock talked about Will Smith in the final minutes and said:

“A year ago, I got slapped at the Oscars and people are like, ‘Did it hurt?’ It still hurts! I got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ear!

“But I’m not a victim. You will never see me on Oprah or Gayle, crying.”

Rock also talked about how Smith’s wife cheated on him and took a dig at her, saying, “We all been cheated on. Everybody has been cheated on.

“None of us has ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us on television, she hurt him way more than he hurt me.”
