Here's some good news The Masked Singer viewers will appreciate: the show is officially coming back for season 4!
On Monday, Fox revealed its fall 2020 TV schedule and The Masked Singer officially made the list. While a specific return date hasn't been announced yet, we know that season 4 is slated to air during the show's normal time slot — a.k.a. Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
To share the exciting renewal news, The Masked Singer's Instagram page posted a graphic teasing that season 4 was "coming this fall!" Of course, the show's fans were beyond ecstatic after seeing the post. Some immediately started asking all sorts of questions about future costumes and more.
"So it's already filmed?" one fan wondered. "Is there gonna be a jellyfish?" another asked. "How many contestants?" a different fan inquired.
Right now, Fox hasn't shared any further details about what season 4 could entail or if it will include judges Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, and Jenny McCarthy. If we had to take a guess on a premiere date though, based on the show's history, season 4 of The Masked Singer will likely start up at the end of September and wrap up by the middle of December.
All of this, of course, depends on if Fox can figure out a way to safely film season 4 amid the coronavirus pandemic. According to Entertainment Weekly, the network is currently drumming up workarounds to pull off production. To air by the end of September (that is, if that's when The Masked Singer will return), the show will likely begin taping in early August.
Long story short, right now it's unclear what season 4 will look like. But either way, we're fairly confident it will be just as exciting, fun, and entertaining as seasons 1, 2, and 3.
