Marvin Harrison Jr. was joined by his girlfriend Charokee Young at the 2024 NFL Draft
Marvin Harrison Jr. had a special someone by his side as he was selected as the No. 4 pick in the NFL Draft in April 2024.
The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver's girlfriend, Charokee Young, came out in support of him at the draft. Young is an athlete herself as well, having won two NCAA Division I championships in track and field.
Though Harrison, who played for The Ohio State University, and Young don’t post each other on their social media, they have given their followers subtle sneak peeks into their relationship, from Valentine’s Day celebrations to sweet comments.
So who is Marvin Harrison Jr.’s girlfriend? Here’s everything to know about Charokee Young and her relationship with the football star.
She went to Texas A&M University
Young graduated from Texas A&M University in 2023 with a degree in sports management, per her LinkedIn. While she was a student, she also was a Division I athlete, running track and field for the school.
“Overcoming hurdles on the track and in the classroom, I proudly stand at the finish line of my college journey. 🙏,” she wrote on Instagram after her graduation. “Grateful to have balanced being a student athlete and professional track star. 🎉 Graduation is not just a degree, it's a testament to hard work, dedication, and divine guidance.”
She's a professional athlete
While she was in school, Young set the college record for the spirit medley relay in 2022. After an impressive career in college, Young began competing professionally around the world, representing Jamaica, her home country.
She competed in the Budapest World Championships in August 2023 and was selected to represent Team Jamaica at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow in February 2024.
Young is currently a two-time silver medalist at the World Championships and is ranked 27th in the women’s 400m event. Per her student-athlete bio, one of her goals is to be an Olympian.
They have been dating for over a year
Young and Harrison never post each other on their social media, but they have left clues to their relationship on their individual pages. Young frequently posts the flowers Harrison sends her, and she began posting them in early 2023, starting with Valentine’s Day.
In June 2023, she shared with her followers on TikTok that she was in a long-distance relationship and missing her boyfriend. Instead of cuddling with him, she joked, she cuddles with the stuffed bear he got her — which was wearing an OSU sweater.
Six months later, Young attended a December OSU game in Dallas, Texas, showing off photos from the event on Instagram. “I did not come to PLAY,” she wrote in the caption, with Harrison cheekily replying, “The caption was a little funny I’ll give it to you🙂.”
For Valentine’s Day in 2024, Young seemingly made her relationship with Harrison Instagram official. She posted photos of herself posing with pink roses and red heart balloons alongside a frame he gifted her with a photo of the two of them.
“Love💝💗💘💓💕💖love,” she wrote in the caption. Harrison responded in the comments with two heart emojis.
They enjoy watching sports together
In January 2024, Young visited Harrison at OSU and the two attended a basketball game between OSU’s Buckeyes and Iowa State University’s Hawkeyes. They sat in the front row among a sea of OSU fans decked out in red.
She was by his side at the NFL Draft
Young kept a low profile during the NFL Draft in April 2024, but she was there by Harrison’s side as he got selected to the Cardinals. She posted a TikTok after the event of herself sitting in a floor-length black gown, joking that she broke the rules.
“Everyone: Please stay away from the phone. Me:” she wrote over a video of her jokingly picking up the phone Harrison would get his call from and posing with it.
She also reposted photos of Harrison at the draft on her Instagram Stories, and included a photo of herself smiling while holding up a Cardinals cap.
