Maruti unveils 2 concepts on Auto Expo day 2

On the second day of the Auto Expo Maruti Suzuki unveiled two new concept cars. These cars are the small hatch Ignis and RS version of the premium hatch Baleno.

According to Maruti the Ignis is a smart compact urban concept vehicle built on a new-generation platform. The company is putting special emphasis on looks of the Ignis, calling it bold and unconventional. The Ignis also has a high ground clearance for a hatch.

On the other hand the Baleno RS will be a more performance oriented version of the Baleno. The car differs slightly in looks from the Baleno hatch and will be powered by a new 1.0 BOOSTERJET direct injection turbo engine that also revealed by Maruti today. It is built on a new-generation platform which Maruti says makes vehicles more rigid, safer, light in weight, more fuel efficient and quieter.

The cars will be launched during the festive season this year.
