Martial arts boost self-confidence of Mosul girls

Taekwondo is giving these Iraqi girls a confidence kick

Location: Mosul, Iraq

Over 60 girls are taking part in an eight-week course

learning how to kick, punch and block opponents

The workshop is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development

"This workshop gave me self-confidence and helped me get over my fears and the thoughts I have been having since I returned to the city (of Mosul). It made me feel strong and capable of defending myself and my family if something happens, God forbid."
