Married At First Sight UK viewers can discover whether Bob found lasting love, if Nikita stopped shouting and how one couple's baby preparations are coming along in a special catch-up reunion ahead of the 2022 supersized series.

The E4 dating show relaunched the MAFS UK format in line with the hit Australian version last year, bringing together a larger number of couples to road test marriage to a stranger while they all lived together in an apartment block and met up for weekly dinner parties.

It was packed with drama as bride Nikita was booted from the series after a vicious dinner party row, Megan kissed another groom behind husband Bob's back, various couples turned on each other and viewers were shocked by older groom Franky's wedding speech to his new bride Marilyse.

Now, some of the biggest stars from the 2021 series are returning for a one-year-on catch-up where they'll update on their love lives, revisit old controversies and get an exclusive look at the couples following in their footsteps for 2022.

Couples Tayah and Adam, and Matt and Daniel are still going strong and will be back to tell how the experiment really can work in real life.

They'll be joined by some of the other contestants who weren't quite so lucky in finding their perfect match - Amy, Morag, Nikita, Megan and Bob.

Although things went quickly wrong between Megan and Bob, they left on good terms and with Bob as a viewer favourite in his search for love.

Some of the most explosive dinner party scenes included rows between Amy and Morag, as well as Nikita and most of the others, so fans of the show will be keen to see whether they have buried the hatchet.

There's also happy news to share with Tayah and Adam expecting their first baby this summer, and the cast will get an exclusive look at the singles preparing to head down the aisle this year.

Commissioning editor of MAFS UK: One Year On Mel Bezalel said: “Last year, record numbers watched 16 strangers get married on E4 and All 4, and witnessed the ensuing drama, romance and rollercoasters. It’s only right that we give viewers ‘what they ordered’ and catch up with this unforgettable cast.

"So far, we’ve had an engagement, a baby announcement and a couple re-locating – so we’re desperate to find out what else this group has been up to since we last saw them, and what this unique reunion might have in store…”

The 2022 series will follow the Australian version even more closely by bumping up to 30 episodes - the longest of any UK series.

It will also include two LGBTQ+ couples after welcoming the first gay couple, Matt and Daniel, last year who will update fans on their continuing romance in the catch up.

MAFS UK: One Year On will air on E4 later this year ahead of the 2022 series debut.
