Marlon Wayans says he’s doing OK after home burglary: ‘They didn’t really get much because I don’t own s---'

The actor and comedian's Los Angeles home was burglarized in June.

Marlon Wayans has issued a PSA to potential robbers: "Don't waste your time."

The actor and comedian offered an update on Instagram after his Los Angeles home was burglarized last month, sharing in a July 4 video that everyone is fine and not much was taken before issuing the PSA to future thieves.

"They didn't really get much because I don't own s---," Wayans said, calling on burglars to "save your energy" in the caption. "I don’t have anything valuable in my house except MY HOUSE. Sorry, I live a simple life."

"Don’t waste your energy or your life doing home invasions, shit is too heavy!" Wayans added. "You want to carry all that bullshit? Throw your back out, and for what?! I repeat, I don’t own shit valuable. I don’t have a bunch of cash or jewelry. Please pick a better [target]."

TMZ previously reported that Wayans' home was broken into by two thieves on June 29 at around 2:30 a.m. while his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans was asleep. A staffer discovered in the morning that the home had been ransacked and that a safe had been taken.

Wayans is fresh off the release of a new stand-up special, Good Grief, on Prime Video, which sees the comedian exploring his grief after the loss of his parents. "This was my therapy," he told Kelly Clarkson on her eponymous talk show of the special. "I figured instead of paying a therapist $200/hour to talk, why not talk about myself and charge the audience $50."

"Two things that have gotten me through is one, God, and two, humor," Wayans said, adding, "My mama told me take my broken heart and turn it into art."

The actor last starred opposite Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in the sports drama Air, portraying basketball coach George Raveling. Other recent credits include series Bel-Air and horror comedy film The Curse of Bridge Hollow. Wayans will next headline the Jordan Peele-produced psychological horror film Him.
