Mark Lee's "Number 1" finally has a release date.

7 Oct – After getting nominated for his role in "Number 1", Mark Lee now has another reason to celebrate – the movie is finally opening in cinemas!

The trailer for "Number 1" will premiere on the actor's Facebook (marklee4444) at 7pm tonight.

There's yet to be a release date set for Malaysia, where it is also expected to open considering the number of fans the actor has in the country, but his Singaporean fans can definitely rejoice as the movie is confirmed to open in Singapore this month.

What makes this movie highly anticipated is even prior to its theatrical release, Mark Lee has already nabbed himself a Best Actor nomination at the 57th Golden Horse Awards.

He will be vying for the award against Hong Kong actor Gordon Lam ("Hand Rolled Cigarette"), as well as Taiwanese actors Liu Kuan-ting ("My Missing Valentine"), Lin Bo-hong ("I WeirDo") and Mo Tzu-yi ("Dear Tenant").

The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony that is scheduled to take place this 21 November in Taiwan.

Helmed by Ong Kuo Sin, "Number 1" stars Mark Lee as a man who becomes a drag queen to support his family following a retrenchment. It is set to open in cinemas this 22 October.
