Marissa Dania apologises for eloping with Aslam last year

16 Apr - Marissa Dania has finally expressed an apology over her decision to elope with husband Aslam to Songkhla, Thailand amid reports of her being a homewrecker to the latter's marriage with Umisya Mazlan.

The 18-year-old model, who is also the daughter of former couple Abby Abadi and Norman Hakim, said that she was not trying to run away or avoid the media, but that she wanted to protect her family's good name and everybody involved.

"This is what Aslam and I have chosen, so I hope that everybody will give us some space to resolve our marital situation without any outside interference," she said.

Marissa said that everything is fine and that she will work hard to ensure that everything will be back to normal.

As for her and Aslam's recent meeting with both Norman and Abby during Eid, Marissa said that she is thankful that her parents have forgiven them and are doing their best to welcome her husband into the family.

"I know that the family weren't happy with the marriage. No parents would say yes to such a choice, especially since I am still young. Aslam and I do not want any problem with the relationship, so we're doing our best to go through it together," she said.

At the same time, she declined to make further comments about her relationship with Aslam's first wife Umisya, the latter who denied that she and Marissa have a great relationship after Marissa shared a photo of them together on social media.

"Just pray for the both of us," Marissa said.
