Marine Killed in Afghanistan Honored by Procession in California Hometown

Residents lined the streets of Rancho Cucamonga, California, on Tuesday, September 21, as a procession passed carrying the body of 20-year-old Marine Lance Corporal Dylan Merola, who was killed in Afghanistan in a suicide bombing on August 26.

Video posted to Twitter by Sgt Christopher Stowell of the Val Verde Unified School District Police Department shows scenes of the procession passing by on Tuesday evening.

KNBC reported that “thousands” turned out to pay their respects to the Rancho Cucamonga local, whose casket was draped in an American flag and carried through the streets of his hometown in a black hearse.
