Maria Bello Marries Longtime Partner Dominique Crenn in 'Bohemian, Chic' Mexico Wedding (Exclusive)
The actress and the Michelin-starred chef tied the knot on May 12 surrounded by 140 guests including Patricia Arquette, Mariska Hargitay and Gavin Rossdale
Maria Bello and longtime partner Dominique Crenn have made it official!
The actress, 57, and the acclaimed French chef, 59, tied the knot on Sunday, May 12, in a "bohemian, chic" wedding at the Montage Los Cabos in Mexico. They were joined by 140 family members and close friends, including Patricia Arquette, Gavin Rossdale, Mariska Hargitay and Vanessa Getty.
The couple — who worked with wedding planner Karla Casillas and Co. — tells PEOPLE they chose Mexico for their long-awaited nuptials because they consider the country "their home away from home" after spending a lot of time there during the COVID-19 pandemic. They landed on the Montage resort as their venue after being taken by the property's "stunning" views and ambience.
During the ceremony, the couple wore stunning Dior — for Bello, a vibrant pink long-sleeved gown paired with an intricate silver belt and a necklace with butterfly details. Crenn — who is the only female chef in America to earn three Michelin stars for her San Francisco restaurant, Atelier Crenn —looked effortlessly chic in a white vest and white pants. They worked with celebrity stylist Jessica Paster, hair stylist Philip Carreon and makeup artist Luis Casco.
Crenn entered the ceremony first from behind a white curtain, alongside her two 10-year-old daughters (whom she shares with ex Katherine Keon) and her mother-in-law, Peggy Keon, as Prince's 1986 hit "Kiss" played. Bello walked out after her, accompanied by her mother, Kathy, and her 23-year-old son, Jackson — whom she shares with media executive Dan McDermott — to the song "Time Flies" by Burna Boy.
The ceremony closed with Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody."
When the couple made their grand entrance at their reception, they danced through the tables where their guests sat as they greeted friends and family. The pair later shared their first dance to the ABBA hit "Dancing Queen."
Not surprisingly, Bello and Crenn made sure that food was "the main event" at their wedding, where guests enjoyed a family-style meal featuring a menu curated especially for Crenn by Montage's executive chef, Xavier Salomon, and his team. According to the couple, the meal represented a fusion of Cabo and California farm-to-table.
Bello and Crenn got engaged in December 2019 in Paris. They later announced the happy news publicly at Elton John’s annual Oscars party in February 2020.
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the time, the Grown Ups star opened up about what makes the couple's relationship special.
“We’re pretty happy, considering that we just got engaged,” Bello told the outlet. “So this is sort of our fun time out in Hollywood for the first time. It was very surprising and meant to be, but about time. I’ve finally grown up enough to get married.”
In December 2023, Bello shared a wedding planning update with PEOPLE, revealing that she and Crenn were finally ready to make it official, as she acknowledged the hurdles that led to their long engagement.

“We're such horrible planners, I have to say, both of us. Plus we're working all over the world,” Bello said. “But finally we have the wedding planner, we have the date, we have the location. And our save the date says, ‘Yep, we're finally doing it.’ "
Bello also opened up about how a series of challenging life events strengthened the pair's bond. One of those trials was Crenn's breast cancer diagnosis early into their relationship.
“Dom and I have been through the three C's: cancer, Covid and now commitment. I've never been married. Even to my son's dad. I've never taken that step,” said Bello. “And that's an exciting thing too in the second half of my life, deciding who I want to be with, choosing the person that I want to be with.”

Bello also reflected on how romantic relationships look a lot different as you get older.
“You get together [when you’re young], you're crazy about each other, it’s passionate, sex. And suddenly by the time you're 50, you're like, ‘Let's watch Netflix and chill and what's for dinner, honey?’ " the Beef star told PEOPLE of having "different commitments at different times" in life.
“My biggest commitment is to my son, but now this new commitment is a conscious walking into the second half of life with someone who's really f---ing rad," she added of Crenn.
