Marcus Rashford exclusive: Man Utd insiders confirm true figures of new deal with timeframe revealed
Manchester United are not worried about Marcus Rashford’s new deal and club insiders have confirmed to TEAMtalk that they are willing to make him the highest paid outfield player at the club.
David De Gea is the club’s current highest earner on around £375,000-a-week – but that will soon change. The goalkeeper is close to signing a new deal that will see him earn substantially less than his current deal.
Earlier this week, Rashford himself stringently denied reports that he was asking for £500,000-a-week. But TEAMtalk understands and has been told that a new deal is set to be in excess of £300,000-a-week, which would see him become the highest paid outfield player.
United are hoping that Rashford’s new deal will be finalised before the end of the season.
Rashford is enjoying the best goalscoring season of his career so far this term. He has 27 goals to his name from 44 appearances in all competitions so far under Erik ten Hag, featuring either as a left winger or as a centre-forward.
In December, Man Utd activated their option to extend his contract by 12 months from 2023 into 2024. But they now need more security about the 25-year-old’s long-term future.
He is all set to be rewarded for his resurgent form, which Man Utd will obviously be hoping he can preserve throughout the prime of his career.

Man Utd ready to reward Marcus Rashford
Rashford’s overall record in Man Utd colours is 120 goals from 347 appearances. There could be many more to come should everything go to plan.
Reports elsewhere have linked Rashford with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain. However, Man Utd are pushing the boat out to keep him at Old Trafford.
It will be fitting to see Man Utd’s number 10 continue with the club he has been at since the age of seven. His focus may well be on his duties on the pitch right now, but by our indications, he is in line to upgrade his status before the end of the season.
Having already won the Carabao Cup this season, Man Utd are aiming to make further progress in the FA Cup and Europa League. They are also well on track to finish in the top four in the Premier League, which would secure them qualification to the Champions League.
Ten Hag is building a bright project in Manchester and Rashford has been a central part of it so far. All being well, that will continue to be the case for years to come.
