Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLLB) on Tuesday (13 April) released the new exclusive skin for fighter hero Paquito, based on legendary Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao.

The skin will be available for purchase from 13 April to 15 September, with players purchasing the skin within a week of its release also receiving a 30 per cent discount (until 19 April).

The skin's release also comes with in-game events, which are available from 13 to 26 April, that will reward players with free avatar frames and in-game emoticons upon completion.

It took the MLBB team six months to create the skin, as they looked to accurately portray Manny Pacquiao in-game as much as possible.

"Hundreds of photos of Manny were taken and collected to perfectly capture the in-game details such as tattoos, expressions, and other minute details." William Mei, marketing manager of MLBB for the Philippines, said in a statement.

"We extracted the spiritual core of Manny Pacquiao, and I'm sure our players feel the champion's spirit when they play him in the game," Mei said.

Pacquiao said he felt "very honoured when Moonton approached" him for the partnership.

It's hard to say no when you have a hero inspired by you in the game and now, they will give him new skin which will have my name on it. It's exciting," added Pacquiao.

Paquito, who joined MLBB's extensive roster of heroes back in January, was heavily inspired by Manny Pacquiao.

The hero was the product of a partnership between MLBB developer Moonton and the boxer, who became an ambassador for the game in the Philippines.

“It was easy for me to say yes when Moonton approached me to be their Philippine Ambassador. I already know of Mobile Legends even before they got in touch because my son, Jimuel, plays the game on his phone and regularly streams with friends. So why not be a part of what my son loves?” Pacquiao previously said on his role as an ambassador for MLBB.

The Manny Pacquiao skin for Paquito is only available in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Moonton also assured that more upcoming theme events would be carried out in different regions.
