If Apple complete the takeover of Manchester United, with the Glazer family wanting to sell, a massive stadium revamp will be on the cards.

The Glazer family has had full ownership of United since 2005. For a lot of the time they have been in charge, fans have been unhappy with how the club has been run.

There have been multiple attempts from others to buy the club previously, including from Sir Jim Ratcliffe last year.

However, at that stage, the Glazers were unwilling to sell. Since then, protests against the ownership have continued, and the Glazers have decided to put the club up for sale.

That was likely not helped by the situation surrounding buying back Cristiano Ronaldo, given that crashed and burned and he left the club by mutual consent.

Ratcliffe is said to be interested in attempting to buy the club again, which is valued at over £5billion.

He will not be alone in his attempts to take control of United.

Tim Cook, the CEO of tech giant Apple, is reportedly interested in buying the club for £5.8billion, as per the Daily Star.

Apple planning massive stadium revamp

Given the Glazers will reportedly sell to the highest bidder, Apple could well see themselves at the head of the pile. Indeed, it is reported the company is worth £2trillion.

A takeover from the company would make United the richest club in the world.

The funds that are available would be put to good use straight away, it seems.

Indeed, the Daily Star reports that Apple plan to build a new ‘state-of-the-art’ stadium should they buy the club. The report suggests the stadium would be regarded as ‘the best in the world’.

It states that it would ‘surpass Tottenham’s [stadium]’ which was opened in 2019, and is seen as one of the best in England, if not the world.

The report also details some of the criticism there has been for United not spending on their stadium of late. As such, new owners could get fans straight on their side with the plans.
