Man Utd legend Roy Keane was delighted to see Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro having an argument after the Red Devils won the Carabao Cup final.

Erik ten Hag now has something to show for his strong start at Old Trafford as goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford secured a 2-0 victory over Newcastle at Wembley on Sunday.

Casemiro has brought bags of character and experience to this Man Utd side after winning numerous trophies at Real Madrid before making the £70m move to the Red Devils in the summer.

And Casemiro was seen arguing with Fernandes after the final whistle as the other players celebrated with the Brazilian berating the Portuguese midfielder for selfishly trying to score a late chance rather than squaring the ball to a team-mate.

The argument delighted Keane, who said on Sky Sports: “Are they arguing there? Yep, maybe. I like that. I don’t know what they’re arguing about, but it shows they care.”

On Casemiro and his celebrations, Keane added: “There is a bit of dancing there, it’s actually quite good to be fair.

“He’s [Casemiro] amazing and you have to get up close to him and see how good he is, he now understands the English game and if you look at the players at United, it looks like it is the first trophy that they have won, and these players are used to winning these trophies.”

And fellow pundit Gary Neville admits he has been proved wrong about Casemiro after he expressed doubts about the summer signing.

“He is a man for the big occasion,” Neville claimed. “He is the glue in this team, the one that holds them together.

“I had my doubts when he signed, the size of the wages, of the contract. Was he coming for the holiday? But no – the impact he has had on this football club is outstanding.”

Speaking to the club’s official website after beating Newcastle, Fernandes said: “It’s always incredible to be a Red, it doesn’t matter if you win or not, it’s always incredible.

“You see the support they [fans] give us in difficult moments, and now it’s time for them to have some joy also because they’ve been behind us through the worst and now they deserve this. They deserve to be in this position with us.

“It’s been amazing [to win the Carabao Cup]. First trophy of the season, but we want more. We want more. This is not enough for this club, we want and we need more, because, for our standing, we need more. For me, it was about winning trophies. Finally we did it, but I want more. I want much more.”
