Man Utd flop says ‘yes’ to shock escape route as Bellingham influence makes Real Madrid transfer ‘closer than ever’
Real Madrid are keen to take Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho to the Bernabeu in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The England international is having a difficult time at Old Trafford with the former Borussia Dortmund star struggling to live up to his £72m price tag.
Sancho swapped Dortmund for Manchester in 2021 with high hopes that he could replicate the form which saw him contribute 37 goals and 41 assists in his last 92 Bundesliga appearances for Die Schwarzgelben.
However, in his 58 Premier League appearances for Man Utd, Sancho has contributed nine goals and six assists with the winger dropping down the pecking order at Old Trafford this season.
Sancho came off the bench in Man Utd’s first three Premier League matches of the season but was left out of the matchday squad by Erik ten Hag for their 3-1 loss to Arsenal before the international break.
Ten Hag explained it was Sancho’s poor performance in training that saw him dropped from the squad, the Man Utd boss said: “Jadon, on his performances in training we did not select him.

“You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected.”
But Sancho couldn’t help but hit back on social media, he wrote: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week.
“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, l’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair! All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.
“I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and (am) grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge.
“I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what.”
There are reports that they will now hold face-to-face talks soon to attempt to resolve the issue after they both publicly called each other out.
And Spanish publication Nacional claims that Real Madrid are looking to offer Sancho a shock escape route from Man Utd in the January transfer window if his situation at Old Trafford remains unchanged.
The report adds that Sancho has said ‘yes’ to a move if Real Madrid can agree a deal with the Red Devils as Man Utd set his new valuation at €45m (£39m).
But Man Utd are ideally ‘looking for a loan’ to get his value back up with Sancho a ‘former whim of Florentino Perez’ who is keen to attempt to sign him again.
The presence of Jude Bellingham at the Bernabeu makes the possibility of Sancho moving to Real ‘closer than ever’ with the England international the ‘great link’ between the Man Utd winger and the Spanish giants.
Bellingham could ‘put pressure on both sides’ to seal a transfer with the new Real Madrid star playing with Sancho for one season at Dortmund, where they were ‘great team-mates’.
