A paddleboarder who had been reported missing was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at Lake Diefenbaker on Sunday.

Outlook RCMP were called Sunday about a missing paddleboarder at the Douglas Provincial Park boat launch on Lake Diefenbaker at about 12:45 p.m. CST, according to a news release issued Monday afternoon.

The boat launch is about 146 kilometres northwest of Regina.

Investigators determined a man entered the water and did not surface.

He was pulled from the water later in the afternoon and pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

RCMP say they are not providing the age or home community of the man as police have not completed their next-of-kin notifications.

The Elbow Fire Department and Saskatchewan Protection and Response Team helped at the scene.
