A man’s commitment to seeing the World Series up close and personal has led him to dip into his wedding fund to ensure he doesn’t miss any of the baseball action.
As the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers prepare to go head-to-head in this year’s World Series, diehard baseball fans are beside themselves trying to secure tickets to the biggest event in the sport — including Yankees fan Raymond Perez.
In an interview with Today, Perez admitted that he pulled from the savings he had stashed away for his upcoming wedding, but said that he got his fiancée’s blessing first.
“Total cost for four tickets was $9,400, and it’ll be $2,360 each,” Perez said. However, he pointed out that the firsthand experience of watching the World Series is worth the dent in his funds.

The 2024 World Series kicks off on Friday, Oct. 25, on the Dodgers' turf at Dodger Stadium. While the Dodgers took home a championship in 2020, this year’s matchup marks the Yankees' return to the World Series for the first time in 15 years.
