Man Led Away by Police as Thousands of Navalny Supporters Take to the Streets in Russia

Thousands of protesters took to the streets across Russia on January 31 to call for the release of jailed opposition leader Alexei Navalny, the Moscow Times reported.

Navalny’s organization called for the nationwide protests. It said protests were planned in more than 30 towns and cities across the country.

This footage was submitted directly to the Team Navalny Telegram account. It shows a man speaking into a megaphone being led away from a protest in Omsk by police. Navalny’s local office identified the man as Dania Chebykin, an employee of the local Navalny office. He was previously arrested at another protest in December, according to the office.
