KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 — Tickets for Malaysian rock queen Ella’s 35th anniversary concert have sold out a day after sales began on Monday.

The Jilid Akhir: Ella Puteri Kota concert, to be held on June 10 at 8pm in Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil, saw more than 50 per cent of tickets snapped up in two hours after sales began at noon.

Concert organisers, Hitman Solutions and RockQueen, had to temporarily suspend sales as the ticketing process was interrupted due to the long queue of buyers on the website.

In a statement, Hitman CEO and founder Rohit Rampal said Ella had created a record with the speed of tickets sold by a Malaysian artiste.

“This just proves how amazing Ella’s fans are and I am in awe at how determined they were at getting the concert tickets. Without a doubt, Ella is definitely our Queen of Rock!”

Responding to the matter, Ella said she was excited, humbled and utterly grateful for the incredible ticket sales.

“I am just thankful to all my fans from all over the world, especially those from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and also Brunei for showing such great enthusiasm in wanting to celebrate this coming concert with me.”

It was previously reported that the Jilid Akhir: Ella Puteri Kota concert will see Ella, whose real name is Nor Zilla Aminuddin, performing a total of 35 songs from her greatest hits archive.

She will also launch her own book titled Rockers Juga Manusia during the event.

The first of a three-part series written by Ella will shed light on her journey in the music industry.
