KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 — A nationwide talent search has begun to form a new band, with RM 75,000 prize money to be won.

The only catch is it's open to Malaysian musicians aged 50 and above.

In an effort to encourage ‘active ageing’, incontinence care expert TENA is on the lookout for musically talented Malaysians aged 50 and above to join their new senior band TENAcity.

Spots for a vocalist, guitarist, keyboard player, bassist and drummer are open with the cash prize to be split equally amongst all members.

TENAcity will tour the nation with the goal of inspiring senior citizens to take action and never give up on pursuing their dreams.

Auditions in the Klang Valley will begin on March 27.

“We strongly believe that age is not a barrier in the pursuit of an active lifestyle and mindset,” Vinda Group SEA President Su Ting Nee said.

“With the TENAcity band search, we want senior Malaysians to know that we are always here to support you as you continue your legacy,” Su added in a statement.

As Malaysia becomes recognised as an ageing country according to the United Nations (UN), TENA desires to empower the local senior communities.

Su also hopes that children of musically talented parents will encourage them to show their talent.

Those interested can register through a direct message to TENA’s Facebook page or WhatsApp (010-268 7489) with the message ‘TENAcity’.
