Members of the public saw Malaysian actor and DJ Jack Lim swing his fists at a man at Pavilion Bukit Jalil on Friday (19 Jan) evening. The man had been caught red-handed allegedly taking upskirt photos at an event, and had allegedly struck Lim first.

While promoting the movie, Happy Dragons, Lim spotted a man in the crowd with a paper bag in his hand acting suspiciously and thrusting it in the direction of the female artistes and influencers present.

Also at the event was singer Henry Teo, who had been alerted of the incident and tried to catch the culprit, according to Lim.

Lim told Singapore's Shin Min Daily News that Teo had initially apprehended the wrong person, but the real culprit had a “guilty conscience” and started running away.

However, he was eventually caught near the entrance of the mall by several food delivery drivers who used their bikes to stop him in his tracks. Many upskirt videos later found man’s handphone

Inside the culprit’s paper bag, they found a strategically cut hole and a handphone in camera mode. He had allegedly tried to delete the videos he had taken whilst making his escape, but was unsuccessful.

“When we unlocked his handphone, we saw many more secretly taken videos. I believe that the artistes under me have also been secretly videoed at other events.” Lim told Shin Min Daily News.

“When the police arrested him, he struck at me. I did not want to retaliate, but my hands just naturally swung at him. However, the police have not taken any legal action against me just yet.”

Jack Lim willing to accept any legal consequences

According to a video Lim uploaded on his Facebook account on Saturday, the culprit allegedly took upskirt videos of Dreammax artistes, Han Xiaoai, Joey Kong and Nicole Low, their assistants and many other women at the event.

Lim also admitted to having been impulsive and was sorry for getting physical with the culprit.

“I am willing to accept any legal consequences,” he wrote. Though he had to stay at the police station till 4am on Saturday, he did not regret his actions.

“If this type of behaviour is not exposed, these perverts may commit worse actions. We need to protect one another,” he said.
