Major update issued on £100m-rated Man City, Newcastle target who has set Serie A alight this season
Reputed journalist Ben Jacobs has issued an update on Napoli superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has been targeted by Manchester City and Newcastle.
The Georgia international has well and truly set the Serie A on fire this season, with his team currently sitting 15 points clear at the top of the table.
It would require a monumental fee to lure Kvaratskhelia away from the Diego Maradona Stadium, though, so the Premier League giants will have to put their money where their mouth is to get a deal over the line.
Indeed, as previously reported by TEAMtalk, Napoli will allegedly demand a monumental fee of over £100m for the 22-year-old winger to sanction a summer sale.
As mentioned, The Italian giants are currently 15 points clear at the top of Serie A and look almost certain to clinch their first league title since 1990.
Kvaratskhelia has played a big part in their success, too. So far, the winger has scored 11 goals and made 10 assists in 21 Serie A appearances this term, giving him a sensational average of one goal contribution per game.
With that in mind, it’s unsurprising to see so many top clubs pushing to bring him in next season, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the race, alongside Man City and Newcastle.

Newcastle and Man City hold concrete interest in Kvaratskhelia
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jacobs revealed that both Newcastle and Manchester City are closely monitoring Kvaratskhelia, as they consider a summer approach.
He said: “There’s absolutely no guarantee that Victor Osimhen or Kvaratskhelia will end up leaving in the summer, but there will be demand, and Newcastle and Manchester City are two of the clubs in particular, along with others like Real Madrid and PSG, that are looking at him.
“It’s obvious why because ultimately, he’s had a standout season, scoring goals and getting assists for fun. He’s scored 10 goals in Serie A in only 20 matches, and it’s an incredible rise really.”
For Eddie Howe, adding a new winger to his Newcastle squad ahead of next season looks set to be a priority, especially if Allan Saint-Maximin leaves St. James’ Park – a rumour that has been doing the rounds for months now.
The Magpies brought in Anthony Gordon from Everton in January, but he is more of a long-term prospect than an instant improvement to their side.
Kvaratskhelia, on the other hand, would instantly improve Newcastle’s team. Indeed, if he could replicate his current form in the Premier League, he could turn them into title contenders.
As for Man City, they are always on the lookout for top-quality players who can bolster their squad for the foreseeable future and the Georgian would certainly slot into Pep Guardiola’s team very nicely.
The Premier League duo are certainly not short of cash, so if Kvaratskhelia does fancy a switch to the Premier League, it looks like it will be a straight fight between the Tynesiders and the Cityzens for his signature.
