A magnitude-6.4 earthquake hit Croatia on December 29, the second earthquake to rock the country in as many days.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said the earthquake struck southeast of Zagreb at 11.20 am local time.

Six people were known to have died by Tuesday – a 12-year-old girl in Petrinja and five men in Majske Poljane, according to a Tweet from the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, as per Google Translate.

The earthquake was felt in neighboring countries such as Slovenia, forcing lawmakers to evacuate the Slovenian National Assembly.
