13 Jan – Maggie Cheung Ho Yee recently revealed that she is now managing a talent agency, and has recently signed a new artiste by the name of Karen Chan.
In an interview with Mingpao recently, the actress, who appeared alongside her 18-year-old artiste, shared that she has partnered up with a businesswoman named Laura to set up a management agency in mainland China a while ago and immediately signed Karen, who is also the niece of her said business partner.
Speaking about her new protege, Maggie said that Karen is like a daughter to her that she feels like protecting but also showcase her talent to the world.
"I have the opportunity of listening to what the young people listen nowadays, and after hearing her singing, I realised that she really knows how to control her voice and has the potential to become a great artiste," she said.
Maggie also revealed that rather than teach Karen how to sing, she would share her own experience and remind the aspiring star to always be wary of her actions.
At the same time, the actress also stated that she would like to further expand herself in the behind-the-scenes work, to find more talents and produce more projects.
"At this age, I don't want to restrict myself. I wanted to be a director or a screenwriter in the past, but I couldn't even write a sentence for half a day. It's useless. I am more suitable to planning work, so I hope to one day become a producer and find new talents," she added.
