6 Nov– Hong Kong singers Mag Lam and Kay Tse recently stressed that they are not at all disappointed over news that RTHK has decided to cancel its annual Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Award this year.
As reported on Mingpao, Mag, who appeared at a radio interview to promote her new single, "One Second", said that she has no qualms with the idea of RTHK airing a special programme in replacement of the live event, in which the winners will be announced following the voting process that will be held from 2 to 10 November.
"Although it may not have the same feel of a real live event, each award is still very precious. The recognition is still the same despite the different form of announcement," she said.
Asked if she has confidence to win this year, Mag said that she will not think too much about it.
On the other hand, Kay, who spoke to Singtao recently, stated that she believes any form of awards is a blessing and a recognition to singers, musicians, and their team.
"As a singer, I will respect the decision made by RTHK," she added.
