Macron holds umbrella for Slovak leader

Rain droplets began to fall while Slovak PM Igor Matovic took his turn to speak at the Elysee presidential palace courtyard, prompting Macron to cover him with a large black umbrella.

When an Elysee worker offered to take the umbrella from his hand, Macron waved no. Matovic responded with a smile.

Macron held the umbrella for around three minutes until the end of the news briefing, and as the two leaders walked up the Elysee steps, after which Matovic took it and handed it over to an aid.
