Who Is Luke Weaver’s Wife? All About Olivia Weaver and Her Relationship with the New York Yankees Pitcher
Luke Weaver and his wife, Olivia Weaver, married in 2016
Luke Weaver has a special fan in the stands: his wife, Olivia Weaver.
The MLB player made his professional debut as a starting pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals but has since transitioned to the bullpen in a closing role with the New York Yankees. Olivia has been by his side through it all, from cheering him on at the collegiate level to supporting him in the stands as he has become a rising star in the league — earning him a spot in the 2024 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The couple started dating in May 2013, engaged in February 2015 and married in December 2016. With two children, Olivia and their kids have become a central support system in Luke’s career.
When asked by the New York Post in June 2024 about his motivation, the professional baseball player expressed the role his family plays.
“I think what drives me is just a very competitive mindset, something that’s just instilled no matter if it’s outside of baseball or anything I do, but from a true perspective, my family, the support and love that they bring, the kids that I have, and my faith, that’s probably the biggest one,” he said.
So who is Luke Weaver’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Olivia Weaver and her relationship with the New York Yankees closing pitcher.
She grew up in Florida
Olivia was born and raised in Tallahassee, Fla., per her Facebook. Meanwhile, Luke grew up only a few hours away in Orlando, Fla., according to Hometown News Volusia.
However, they both attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, where they continued to reside and raise their family.
They started dating in 2013
Luke and Olivia began dating in May 2013, though details about the start of their romance are private.
In honor of their second anniversary, he penned a sweet post on Instagram about Olivia.
“These past 2 years have been the best of my life and I can’t wait for infinity more with you. I love you goober forever and always,” he wrote.
When Luke got drafted by the Cardinals in 2014, their relationship became long-distance.
“Missin this girl like crazy. Got spoiled seeing her everyday but next week I'll be reunited once again 😘😍😊😜,” Luke wrote on Instagram that June.
They married in 2016
After nearly three years of dating, Luke proposed to Olivia in February 2015.
“So... This is what I did today. She cool. Future wifey WHOOP WHOOP!” he captioned a celebratory selfie of them.
The couple tied the knot on Dec. 10, 2016, in Tallahassee, surrounded by friends, family and their golden retriever, Wrigley, in what Luke later described as the “best day” of his life.
They share two kids
Luke and Olivia are parents to a daughter named Lyla Mae and a second child whose name has yet to be announced.
The couple welcomed their firstborn, Lyla, on Oct. 14, 2019. Although the COVID-19 pandemic meant time away from the baseball field, Olivia was grateful for the bonus family time.
“This quarantine has given us unexpected family time that we never would have gotten. We miss baseball but I will always be thankful for this time,” Olivia wrote on Facebook in June 2020.
While the professional athlete has occasionally shared glimpses of his daughter on social media, Luke opened up about Lyla's personality during an interview with the New York Post, revealing that they have a lot in common.
“She’s goofy, she’s very independent, she’s a leader, she’s very strong-willed, she’s got a good mix of mom and dad," he said.
She supports his baseball career on and off the field
Olivia continuously cheers her husband on from the stands, repping his jersey number from his college days to his MLB Days.
She supports him behind the scenes, too. When asked by the YES Network how much sleep he was getting, he explained that he had Olivia to thank for helping him adjust to baseball season and fatherhood.
“The wife’s good about allowing me to get a couple extra Z’s in the morning and getting ready for each day,” he said in May 2024.
He describes himself and Olivia as “fire and ice”
When the New York Post asked Luke why Olivia is the "perfect one" for him, he credited their similar personalities.
“We like a lot of the same things, we are fire and ice when it comes to certain things, and we balance each other out in those ways,” he explained. “She always knows what to say even though she feels like it’s the wrong thing.”
While Luke and Olivia may have different opinions, the MLB star believes it's one of their greatest assets, especially as he's come up in the league.
“She helps me stay even-kneeled and humbled throughout any successes or failures, and challenges me on a daily basis to be myself," he added.
They traveled internationally together
Luke and Olivia traveled to Costa Rica in December 2017 to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.
The following fall, in November 2018, the Tallahassee residents traveled to Europe together, visiting Italy, Spain and France.
He shared photos from the trip on Instagram, including one of them standing in front of the Trevi Fountain in Rome, with the caption, “Euro Trip!”
