Luk Ho Ming tears up for worrying mother over SARS blunder

20 Feb – Luk Ho Ming admits that he was unable to sleep for two days after the blunder he made during the taping of his TVB show, "Young and Restless".

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who spoke to the media regarding his mistake in saying SARS started in Hong Kong in the previous episode of the show, stated that it was not the attacks he received from netizens online that made him most unhappy, but how it has caused his mother to worry.

"I told my mum that it was okay. Sometimes entertainers have to deal with this kind of thing. I told her not to worry," he said.

However, Luk couldn't help but tear up as he talked about his mother's concern for him.

Asked if the mistake could affect his other work, Luk expressed his hope that such a thing won't happen.

"But I don't want it to affect advertisers as well. I will send them a message to say I am sorry," he said.

Luk also apologised during the recent episode of the programme, saying that they will be more careful in handling the content of the show.

"We here on this show would also want to thank those who helped in the fight against SARS in 2003 and the medical staff who are now fighting the Coronavirus epidemic in Hong Kong. We hope that it will end soon," he said.
