The show hasn't aired a new series since its first winter edition which started in January 2020, with last year's summer instalment was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This Morning also shared there had been an update to the show's famous personalised water bottles as they've been given a makeover.

While it was previously a clear plastic design, they now have a white matte finish on a stainless steel body and a slimmer look.

The Islanders will be seen using them on the programme as usual while fans can also purchase them online and via the show's app too.

Wednesday also saw ITV unveiling Love Island's new duty of care protocols. Some of the processes for participants include “comprehensive psychological support”, “detailed conversations on the impact of participation on the show” and a “proactive aftercare package”.

The show has faced criticism after two former contestants, Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon, took their own lives after appearing on the programme.
