“Love Is Blind” Star Marshall Glaze Is Engaged to Chay Barnes: 'Happily Ever After'
The reality star popped the question to Barnes just before Christmas, with the help of castmate Irina Solomonova
Marshall Glaze is engaged!
The Love Is Blind star, 28, popped the question to partner Chay Barnes during a surprise proposal just days before Christmas. He announced the happy news on Instagram on Tuesday, declaring, "The journey to 'Happily Ever After' started on 12.23.23 ❤️💍."
Glaze's post featured a series of photos of the couple celebrating the special moment. In one image, they embraced on a rooftop with a sweeping view of the Seattle skyline in the distance. Another close-up shot showed the couple holding hands — and offered a glimpse of Barnes' stunning engagement ring.
Glaze told PEOPLE he secretly gathered his fiancée's friends and family together at the proposal site to watch him surprise Barnes and ask her to marry him. He also revealed that one of his Love Is Blind season 4 costars, Irina Solomonova, who runs an event planning company, helped him pull off the romantic moment.
In another reality TV connection, Glaze worked with Payal and Kajal Vitha of Sonu Company (seen on Netflix's Indian Matchmaking series) to custom design Barnes' diamond sparkler.
In a follow-up Instagram post on Tuesday, Glaze shared a video of the proposal, showing the romantic setup he created. Barnes arrived to find a red carpet, vases of red roses, candles and a sign lit up with the words "Marry Me," and then Glaze got down on one knee.
"Such a special day 🥹. She had NO idea. GOTCHA!" he wrote in the caption, adding, "Special shoutout to @irina_solo & @solo___co for helping execute the vision for my proposal ❤️ LIB castmate coming in the clutch!"
Several of Glaze's castmates left congratulatory messages for the couple in the comments section of the first engagement post, including Zack Goytowski, who wrote, "Congratulations Marshall! So happy for you ❤️."
Goytowski's wife, Bliss Poureetezadi-Goytowski — whom he met and married on the Netflix show — commented, "Aw!! So happy for you two! All the blessings! ❤️❤️❤️."
Micah Lussier also left her well-wishes. "Been waiting to see the pics 😩😩🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 obsessed with you two," she wrote. "The most amazing people that make the most loving couple! ♥️♥️♥️."

Glaze — who split from fiancée Jackie Bonds not long after they left the pods on the show — first introduced Barnes on After the Altar in September 2023. During the episode, he and Barnes met up with costars Tiffany and Brett Brown at a local bar.
When Barnes stepped away for a moment, Glaze confided in Brett, telling him, "I do know that's who I want. That's who I wanna spend my life with."
"First person I want to call is her, and that says something," he added of Barnes. "I just feel it. I'm happy, man. I'm extremely happy."
As the couple marked their first anniversary together last July, they reflected on their strong bond in a joint Instagram post.
"One year of laughing, crying, adjusting, communicating, healing…" they wrote. "Our journey to where we are today is a testament of resilience and unconditional love for one another. Cheers to Year One and cheers to many more."
